Earlier reports indicated that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs had sent a petition to the Meshchansky Court of the capital, requesting the arrest of individuals implicated in the theft of government contracts linked to the Voentorg joint-stock company and related government needs, including the country’s Ministry of Defense. An official spokesperson for the ministry, Irina Volk, provided these details. Previously, Kurt had reported that law enforcement officers had detained the head of Voentorg in connection with the alleged theft of budget funds during the execution of government contracts, and the Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case.
