The surge in sales by foreign buyers and the growing volume of high‑end transactions are reshaping the Alicante real estate scene, with a rising number of agents specializing in luxury properties. Sotheby’s International Realty, the real estate arm of the famed British auction house, is expanding its footprint with a new office opening this week in the heart of Alicante.

The organization stands as a luxury brand with a market value surpassing 100 million. It is betting on the Eurozone markets and the Costa Blanca corridor in the premium segment. At VIVA Sotheby’s International Realty, Alicante is viewed as a strategic region, buoyed by strong international demand and a diverse portfolio of properties. The firm is introducing more than 100 newly built villas, priced from 300,000 to 5 million euros, to satisfy varied investor and buyer profiles.

Alejandra Vanoli, the director overseeing Spain, notes, “The Alicante coast holds substantial appeal for international buyers, thanks to its standout locations both to the north and south.” She adds, “Our clients mainly come from Europe, with buyers from France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, but we also see strong interest from the United States.”

Beyond weather and connectivity, the Costa Blanca market stands out for its price competitiveness within Spain, especially when compared to the Balearic Islands. The team highlights that the province ranks among the top destinations for foreign buyers and reinforces that Alicante is a magnet for new construction projects.

New record: Foreigners already buy about 90 houses a day in Alicante

This new office joins VIVA Sotheby’s International Realty’s established network, which already operates offices in Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Madrid, with correspondent offices across the Canary Islands, Galicia, Valencia, and Tarragona. VIVA SIR has secured the exclusive license to manage the Sotheby’s International Realty brand within Spanish territory, excluding Barcelona-Costa Brava and Andalusia.

Today, the Sotheby’s International Realty network comprises more than 25,000 sales associates across more than 1,000 offices, spanning 81 countries worldwide. The VIVA unit first opened in Puerto de Andratx in 2011 and has since grown to seven offices across Spain, strategically positioned in multiple cities to serve a growing luxury client base.
