In the Ivanovo region, a 45-year-old local resident harmed his 36-year-old friend in a brutal incident after the friend declined to lend money. The event was reported by REN TV.
The alleged assault occurred on May 21 in the village of Arkhipovka. Reports indicate that the accused visited a neighbor and requested a loan, which was refused. Following the refusal, the suspect struck the friend with a stick and then subjected him to boiling water. Water from a kettle was poured onto the victim until he lost consciousness. Afterward, the aggressor departed, wrapping the victim in cloth and igniting a fire, while turning on the gas on the stove. The residence burned, and the host perished as a result of the fire.
Law enforcement authorities determined the victim died after the fire was extinguished. The suspect was detained as police opened a criminal case. The detainee is reported to have found the victim’s cell phone during preliminary investigations.
