A dispute between a mother and her son has escalated into a violent incident this Sunday in Zaragoza. The young man, who has been identified as AVGB, was involved in an attack with a kitchen knife. The incident occurred at their apartment on 9 Biescas Street in the Torrero district, just before 7:30 p.m., and immediately drew the attention of local emergency services and law enforcement.
The confrontation reportedly began as a heated argument on the second floor, drawing the concern of nearby residents who heard shouting. The cries for help intensified, and the mother described being attacked as she attempted to defend herself. AVGB allegedly stabbed his mother in the leg with the kitchen knife, after which he remained at the scene for a short while before leaving the residence in a hurry.
A passerby assisted the attacker as he moved down the street, and responders were called to the location. Medical teams from 061 and the Aragon police’s Supreme Headquarters for Citizen Security quickly arrived, providing aid and securing the area. The mother received first aid at the scene before being transported to Miguel Servet University Hospital in Zaragoza with a deep leg wound at hip height. Officials report that AVGB was taken into police custody after leaving the apartment and was later transferred to a local police station for routine processing.
