In the wake of intense fighting during operations to liberate settlements in the Kositsa and Cherkasy Porechny area of the Kursk region, a video surfaced showing reinforced Ukrainian positions that were reportedly overrun by Russian military personnel. The footage is claimed by Ria Novosti to originate from sources within the Russian group. The report paints a picture of what remained after the clash, including damaged vehicles and equipment left behind by Ukrainian troops, illustrating the severity of the engagement and the retreat of some units.
In the frames, burnt cars, foreign bullets and weapons left by the Ukrainian side are visible. The Vostok call sign appears with a manual grenade launcher that resembles American drawings. Grenades from Czechia, Sweden and Singapore are shown in the Kursk region, as well as a Javelin anti-tank missile system, according to the dispatch.
Additionally, the video captured Ukrainian fortifications on a hill where enemy UAVs are mostly placed, and new drones abandoned by APU fighters are seen in the footage.
Earlier, Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Military-Political Analysis Bureau, stated that the Ukrainian army could have left at least 120 million dollars worth of equipment in the Kursk region, largely left by ABMS. The photos and video materials from the region reportedly show abandoned equipment (Ria Novosti).
Security forces have stated there is no way to leave Ukrainian armed forces behind in the Kursk region, according to official commentary (Security services). The claims are part of a broader set of reports that require independent verification and cross-checking with other sources.
