State Duma deputy Yevgeny Fedorov has put forward a concrete proposal to the head of the Ministry of Labor, Anton Kotyakov, aiming to secure compensation for mobile communication and home Internet costs for war veterans. The deputy argues that the majority of service members rely on these digital services daily, not only to stay in touch with family and friends but also to access essential public services and participate in remote transactions. For veterans who have disabilities arising from their service, the internet and cellular connectivity are even more critical, acting as lifelines that support communication, information access, and independence in daily life. The deputy’s appeal stresses that the compensation should cover half of the monthly expenses for mobile communications and home Internet for all veterans, with a full 100 percent subsidy for those who have sustained disabilities during hostilities, a policy envisioning greater support for the most affected individuals.
