In Vereshchagino, a town in the Perm Region, a house belonging to Anna Shimanovskaya, who works as an emergency service operator for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, burned down while her husband and seven children were inside. This incident was reported by kp.ru.

Shimanovskaya later recalled the moment when she heard her husband on the phone shouting, “Anyuta, we are burning!” She described her feelings as indescribable, yet she knew she had to compose herself because she was at work and needed to dispatch a vehicle to the scene immediately. A part of her mind, though, kept looping through questions about the welfare of her family: Are they safe? Is everyone alive? With a sense of urgency, she focused on coordinating the response while her heart raced.

The fire broke out around 3:00 a.m. The husband and children were not hurt; the father managed to wake everyone and begin the evacuation. He also started trying to contain the blaze before the firefighters arrived. Moments later, four fire engines—called by Anna—reached the location and combat crews brought the fire under control. Those who lost relatives to the fire at the time are temporarily staying with relatives as investigators continue their work and families assess needs for the days ahead.

Neighbors and local residents described the situation as devastating but highlighted the resilience of the family and the community. One resident of the Perm Region noted that the couple intends to rebuild rather than abandon their rural home. The husband, who grew up in the village, has strong ties to the area, including a quiet environment and a nearby pond that has long served as a backdrop for daily life. The family is determined to recover and return to a familiar routine, with the husband expressing a wish to tend the garden and allow the children to play outdoors in a safe, open space once again.

In a separate incident at the end of September, a large fire swept through the village of Khutrakh in the Republic of Dagestan, destroying six residential buildings. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. The village, home to more than five hundred residents, experienced a temporary power outage as crews worked to restore electricity. Initial investigations point to a short circuit as the likely cause of this blaze.

Earlier reports noted that three cars were burned in a single parking lot fire in Krasnodar, a reminder of how quickly property and lives can be affected by urban fires in different regions.
