The person responsible for injuring the Princess Turandot monument fountain in Moscow’s Arbat district was taken to a hospital with multiple fractures. This information comes from a police source cited by TASS.
The source confirmed that an individual climbed the statue of Princess Turandot near the Vakhtangov Theater on the Saturday evening in question.
According to the report, the action led to damage to the upper portion of the statue, and the climber subsequently fell from the sculpture.
The condition of the victim was not publicly disclosed. What is known is that doctors diagnosed a fracture as a result of the incident.
The headquarters of Moscow’s Ministry of Internal Affairs stated to DEA News that an investigation has been opened into the incident.
Late in the evening, the Baza Telegram channel reported that a man ascended the Turandot statue at Arbat and caused damage to the fountain monument. The fountain, placed near the theater building in 1997, was created to mark the 75th anniversary of the first performance of the play bearing the same name.
