Valencian Businessmen Association AVE, the body uniting the largest family-owned firms in the community, hosted its traditional New Year’s dinner at the acclaimed SH Villa Gadea in Altea. The gathering highlighted AVE’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong business ties and celebrating regional entrepreneurship in a warm, festive setting.
More than 250 business leaders and civil society figures from throughout the Autonomy took part, led by AVE’s president, Vicente Boluda. Among the association’s most notable attendees was Juan Roig, president of Mercadona, whose presence underscored the shared interest among top regional players in sustainable growth and economic collaboration.
The event drew considerable attention from senior political leadership as well. Attendees included Carlos Mazón, president of the Generalitat, along with Deputy Vice President and Advisor for Social Services, Equity and Housing Susana Camareno; Ruth Merino, minister of Finance, Economy and Public Administration; and Nuria Montes, minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism. Also present was Tony Pérez, president of the Alicante Provincial Council, together with other regional political figures who observed AVE’s annual milestone with camaraderie and professional respect.
Beyond AVE members, the dinner attracted representatives from other business associations and employer groups, including CEV and various Alicante Circle managers, among others. The mix of attendees reflected AVE’s broad network and the common interest in advancing the region’s economic vitality through collaboration and shared initiatives.
The Christmas dinner is traditionally the moment when AVE marks the close of its annual activities. While Vicente Boluda used the stage to reflect on economic trends and outline potential targets for the year ahead, this particular gathering centered on celebration and gratitude. The remarks focused on acknowledging the participants’ ongoing involvement and the value of mutual support within the association and its extended business community.
