In Valencia’s Abastos district, a 41-year-old man was detained by National Police Agents on suspicion of committing a sexual assault. The man, who was occupying a rental room in the same building, is believed to have targeted a tenant shortly after she moved in, attempting to coerce her into sexual activity and then escalating the aggression.
The events unfolded early on a Tuesday, just after 1:00 a.m., when officers from the 091 line were dispatched to a residence on a street within the district. The call followed the report of a sexual assault and prompted the rapid response of the police team.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim and gathered details about her appearance and recent movements related to the suspect. Investigators learned that the man had entered the property minutes before the alleged assault under the guise of a rental arrangement, and that consent for any sexual act had not been given.
According to the victim, the assault began with the man taking a firm hold of her wrists and forcibly positioning himself on her, while inappropriately touching her under her clothing. She screamed for help and managed to move, leaving visible marks and scratches as she attempted to free herself.
The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody
As the distress continued, a second officer arrived on the scene and observed the suspect fleeing from the victim’s room, still in his underwear. Police quickly secured the area and pursued the suspect, who had already established a pattern of pursuing contact with the victim in prior encounters.
