Valencia Ivace Energy Efficiency Subsidies for Industry (Expanded)

Valencia’s Ivace, through its Energy unit, is directing a total fund of 5.3 million euros to support the adoption of energy saving and efficiency measures across the region’s industrial sector. This dedicated support aims to accelerate practical changes in plants, machinery, and processes that drain energy—ultimately driving down consumption and lowering emissions.

The overarching goal of the program is clear: decrease energy usage and reduce carbon dioxide and other pollutants, thereby improving air quality and fostering environmental stewardship across the Community of Valencia.

Eligible beneficiaries include small, medium, and large-scale industrial enterprises within the community. Applications are open with a submission deadline set for June 30, 2024, giving firms a defined window to plan and apply for funding that aligns with their energy optimization strategies.

Ivace prioritizes projects that invest in replacing aging equipment and infrastructure with high-efficiency options. This includes facilities and auxiliary systems that consume energy, as well as other technologies that enable advanced energy performance and reliability.

Additionally, subsidies are available to support the implementation of energy management systems. These funds cover analysis, regulation, and control of digital monitoring software, as well as the installation of measurement tools for energy consumption variables and the creation of control mechanisms for process and application parameters. The objective is to ensure optimal operation of industrial facilities and sustained energy performance.

For large companies, the subsidy covers up to 35% of eligible costs per project, with a maximum of 1.5 million euros per project. For small and medium-sized enterprises, the rate increases to 45%, and for micro businesses it can reach up to 55% of eligible costs. These figures reflect a strong emphasis on enabling widespread participation and accelerating energy efficiency gains across company sizes.

Energy efficiency has taken on particular importance within the regional industrial landscape, as the sector accounts for a sizable share of total energy consumption in the Community of Valencia. Reducing this consumption directly impacts competitiveness by lowering operating costs and strengthening long-term resilience for regional manufacturers.

Ivace Energía administers these subsidies with funds sourced from the National Energy Efficiency Fund. The fund is supported by electricity tariff contributions from consumers and was established at the behest of the European Union to assist governments in accelerating their energy transition. This context underscores the program’s strategic role in aligning local industrial practice with broader European energy goals and sustainability targets.
