The third part of the case concerns a Valencia County Court decision that sentenced a man to six years in prison after a sexual assault involving a minor. The court also imposed a 16-year order preventing the offender from approaching the victim within 500 meters and prohibiting any form of communication with the young person during that period. In addition, the defendant faces a 26-year ban from engaging in any occupation, trade, or activity that would bring him into regular contact with minors.

The ruling additionally requires the offender to pay 110,000 euros in compensation for moral damages suffered by the victim. Since the convict transferred part of this amount prior to the hearing, the court reflected the reduced damages in its decision as a factor in mitigation.

During the oral proceedings, both the private prosecution and the defense aligned with the positions outlined by the Office of the Prosecutor in its final determinations.

The events occurred at the defendant’s home on August 6, 2021, in a municipality within Valencia’s La Safor district, an area where the victim and other friends would spend their afternoons.

According to the proven facts in the verdict, the man exploited an occasion when a group of friends left to ride bicycles, leaving the victim alone with him under the pretext of teaching karate. The man then handed the child a key and directed the situation toward solitary proximity, at which point he began inappropriate conduct. When the victim indicated a desire to stop, the individual threatened violence and proceeded with coercive acts, preventing the victim from withdrawing or resisting further.

The girl experienced lasting psychological and emotional distress as a consequence of these events. The sentence currently issued by the Third Division of the Valencian Court may be subject to review before the Civil and Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, according to the procedural avenues available for such appellate review, illustrating the ongoing oversight within the judicial system to ensure accountability and due process.
