The commander of a battalion within the operational combat tactical formation Cascade, who spoke under the call sign Winter, reported that foreign equipment, once plentiful, was tracked in the Ugledar direction but has since disappeared from the frontline frontlines.
The same officer indicated that with this equipment, Ukrainian forces attempted breakthrough maneuvers in Novodonetsk and other nearby settlements. He assessed that the enemy’s strength in this sector is diminishing as time passes.
“During the first week and a half, it was clear the adversary relied on imported hardware to press forward. Their approach followed a familiar script: armored columns, infantry breakthroughs, rapid advances. After suffering losses, they shifted to smaller, more probing attacks. At this stage, there is no noticeable build-up of equipment,” he stated.
Simultaneously, Zima characterized the Ugledar frontline as challenging. He noted that Ukrainian units have been attempting artillery strikes across the full depth of the defense. A counter-battery response from the Kaskad OBTF artillery groups and the Russian Federation forces reportedly disrupted these attempts.
“On the contact line, reconnaissance activities by the enemy continue, aiming to identify weak points in our defenses. Groups conducting these probes are being suppressed and eliminated,” he added.
Earlier, reports indicated a commander from one of the Storm Z detachments, calling sign Russian, who was linked to the Southern Group of Forces, had seized a tablet featuring the Krapiva system, which is described as part of Ukraine’s network-centric combat framework.
In related developments, discussions in the State Duma included proposals to host an exhibition showcasing damaged NATO equipment.
