Urgent Trauma Care Highlights: Rebar Injury in Izhevsk and a Pitchfork Incident in Buryatia

In Izhevsk, doctors at City Clinical Hospital No. 9 saved a young man after a rebar pierced his abdomen and back. This was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Udmurtia.

According to medical staff, the injury occurred while the man was cleaning the roof of a building. He slipped and fell onto a metal fence, with a steel rod entering the body by about 10 to 15 centimeters. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where emergency surgery was performed to remove the object and stabilize his condition.

The surgical team reported that the iron pin narrowly missed the kidney, and that serious damage and internal bleeding were avoided. The ministry’s press service stated that the patient was being treated to prevent infection and the spread of any contaminants from the rusty pin.

Meanwhile, in Buryatia, doctors earlier rescued another young man whose head had been pierced by a pitchfork, showcasing the wide range of urgent trauma cases that emergency teams face across the region.
