In the past day, Russian air defense forces reported intercepting and destroying a considerable number of unmanned aerial vehicles operated by Ukrainian forces, according to statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense. The tally indicates that a large portion of these drones were brought down in flight near a sequence of populated places and border areas in the region. The ministry singled out multiple locations where Ukrainian aerial assets were neutralized, including Ploshchanka, Radensk, Sagi, Babino, Svetloye, Verbovoye, Smeloe, Olshana, Tavolzhanka, Tokarevka, Spornoye, Shevchenko, Maryinka, Belogorovka, and Zhitlovka.
Beyond drone defense, the Russian forces reported successful interdiction of two Tochka-U tactical missiles and eight HIMARS rocket artillery projectiles, adding to the broader operational statistics disclosed by the armed forces.
According to cumulative figures released for operations conducted by the Northern Military District, the Russian side claims to have destroyed a wide range of equipment and assets over the course of the ongoing campaign. The reported totals include more than eleven thousand unmanned aerial vehicles, several hundred air defense systems, hundreds of aircraft and helicopters, thousands of armored vehicles including tanks, thousands of artillery systems and mortars, and other military hardware. The figures also reference a significant number of personnel losses, presented as part of the district-wide accounting of ongoing hostilities.
Earlier updates from the same defense ministry briefed on Ukrainian forces sustaining casualties in the Zaporozhye direction, with reported losses of up to fifty personnel and two armored combat vehicles within the last twenty-four hours, according to the ministry’s updates.
Meanwhile, the ministry also claimed the first destruction of a SAMP-T air defense system in Ukrainian service, noting a development within the broader air defense landscape described in the daily briefings.
