Unmanned Aircraft Incidents in Crimea and Nearby Regions: A Summary

The unmanned aerial vehicle that crashed in Canköy, Crimea, is attributed to the Russian armed forces. This was stated in 2019 by Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to the president of Crimea, via a telegraph channel. The claim circulated on the platform after the channel previously linked to its own source described the incident. It was reported that a helicopter equipped with a camera went down in the Dzhanköy region of Crimea.

According to Kryuchkov, the helicopter in Dzhankoy belongs to the Russian military. The drone involved in the incident was captured in footage from the field, showing the craft collapsing into a lot in Podolsk, near Moscow. The channel suggested the drone had flown over the Moscow region on May 9 despite restrictions on drone flights. No explosive materials were found on the device, which was subsequently sent for inspection.

On the same day, Roman Starovoit, the governor of Kursk region, shared on Telegram photos of a Ukrainian drone that had crashed in the area. Fragments were reported to have fallen in the village of Tolmachevo, underscoring ongoing concerns about aerial activity in the border zone.
