An unidentified object, resembling a meteorite, was reported near Yekaterinburg in what eyewitnesses described as a striking aerial event captured on social media videos. The recordings appear to come from Bogdanovich, a town roughly 80 kilometers from Yekaterinburg, and they show a bright flash as the object passes by and possibly strikes the lens of a car’s dashcam. The footage indicates the event took place at 21:03 local time, which corresponds to 19:03 Moscow time, according to the timestamps visible in the clips.
In a separate clip, residents are seen releasing fireworks in a courtyard while a luminous object travels through the sky and enters the frame, drawing attention from onlookers and social media users alike. At this stage, no official government statement has been issued regarding the incident, leaving room for speculation and continued public interest.
A separate report dates back to April 7, when residents in the Ust-Kutsky district of the Irkutsk region observed a meteorite event. Eyewitnesses described a sudden, brief illumination of the street, a flash strong enough to momentarily light the surroundings before returning to normal darkness.
Separately, there was a report from the Ministry of Education indicating that Russian scientists have developed methods to reduce risks during lunar landings. The announcement suggested advances in technology or procedures intended to prevent accidents when spacecraft descend to the Moon, highlighting ongoing work in space science and exploration.
