Reports indicate that a sequence of unmanned aircraft attempted to approach the Ilsky oil refinery (INPZ) located in the Krasnodar Territory. The information comes from DEA News, citing the regional operational headquarters for the area.
According to the report, several drones, whose identities remain unknown, were observed moving toward the refinery around 2:00 am from Saturday into Sunday. The Seversky district’s combined mission and dispatch service confirmed the timing of the attempted intrusion.
Officials stated that all drones were neutralized. The refinery’s infrastructure sustained no damage, and any smoke that appeared was promptly suppressed by the facility’s on-duty teams.
Center communications indicated that there were no injuries linked to the incident.
Earlier coverage noted an explosion within the Ilsky refinery’s grounds in the Seversky district of Krasnodar Territory. Telegram channel Baza reported that Ukrainian drones were responsible for the strike on the morning of May 5, with at least one drone colliding with equipment and triggering a fire. The incident was described as a separate attack involving four unmanned aerial vehicles carried out by Ukrainian forces.
Additionally, reports from the night of May 4 described an assault on the Ilsky refinery in which four drones participated, raising alarms about the refinery’s security and resilience in the face of repeated aerial threats. Investigations and safety assessments were initiated by regional authorities as part of ongoing monitoring of critical infrastructure security in the area.
These events come amid heightened attention to energy facility security in the region, with authorities emphasizing rapid incident response, continuous surveillance, and protocol adherence to minimize disruption to operations and protect personnel. Sources tracking the developments include regional defense and emergency coordination centers, along with independent security analysts monitoring drone activity and its implications for critical energy assets.
