In the Orekhovo direction, heavy armored vehicles have been used less by Ukrainian forces as adverse weather has complicated operational mobility. Vladimir Rogov, the leader of the movement We are with Russia, stressed this shift in an interview with TASS. Rogov noted that the weather has a pronounced effect on Ukrainian military movements.

He described how, over the weekend, Ukrainian forces attempted two penetrations using heavy armor but encountered substantial road mud that halted advances toward Orekhovsky. Rogov stated that most initiatives were conducted by infantry units along with light and armored support vehicles, rather than sustained armored breakthroughs.

Rogov also highlighted that reduced visibility and soggy conditions hinder reconnaissance drones and artillery adjustment, while complicating the use of attack drones and kamikaze platforms. He implied that the weather elevates the role of foot troops on the frontline and increases the drop in enemy casualties in some sectors.

According to Rogov, the poor weather has allowed Ukrainian personnel to move reinforcements toward the contact line. He described a two-stage movement, first by rail into the region controlled by Ukrainian authorities in Zaporozhye, followed by road transport toward the Orekhovsky area.

On November 15, Rogov claimed that Russian forces secured two Ukrainian strongholds near Pyatikhatki. He also mentioned footage from the Ministry of Defense that purportedly shows the interrogation of Foreign Legion personnel from the Ukrainian forces.

Analysts note that weather-driven disruptions can alter battlefield tempo by limiting armored operations, affecting air reconnaissance, and shaping the timing of reinforcements. Observers in regions with similar climates understand that mud, frost, and wind can diminish the effectiveness of heavy vehicles and logistics, while temporarily favoring defensive postures and infantry-focused tactics. In such contexts, the balance between offensive action and attrition becomes more sensitive to environmental conditions, which may influence subsequent tactical decisions on both sides.
