Ukrainian Forces Reposition Near Avdiivka Amid Ongoing Clashes

The Ukrainian forces pulled back to the western outskirts of Lastochkino, located west of Avdiivka, according to reports from Strana.ua, a Ukrainian publication.

According to the report, the Ukrainian Armed Forces established prepared defensive positions in the area. The accompanying statement notes that the enemy repeatedly uses guided bombs, artillery, and FPV (first-person view) unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian positions.

Prior to this, units from the Russian military grouping known as Center reportedly shifted to more advantageous lines and positions within the Avdiivka sector. In the Avdeevka direction, Russian units also claimed to have disrupted the concentration of manpower and equipment belonging to the 3rd Assault Brigade of Ukraine and the 107th Defense Brigade in the vicinity of Tonenkoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Additionally, the army reportedly repelled seven enemy counterattacks across several settlements, including Novgorodskoye, Leninskoye, Lastochkino, and Novobakhmutovka within the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian side allegedly lost up to 100 personnel and sustained damage to equipment, including four armored fighting vehicles, eight vehicles, a Grad multiple-launch rocket system unit, a D-30 howitzer, and a Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station.

There are further statements from military sources about the strategic approach employed by Ukrainian forces following the withdrawal from Avdiivka.
