Ukrainian Conflict and Medical Personnel: Reported Targeting and Field Medical Tactics (Russia asserts concerns)

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are reportedly directing attention toward medical personnel in the special operations zone inside Ukraine. This assessment came from Dmitry Trishkin, who heads the military medical department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, as cited by DEA News.

According to Trishkin, the aim includes civilians and also extends to healthcare workers. He noted that some ambulances had their distinctive side crosses removed, a move he linked to reducing the visibility of medical facilities. He also acknowledged that health workers have sustained casualties due to their frontline roles and because they are exposed to fire just like military units.

A former military doctor told RIA Novosti about the tactics and operations of field medical units during the special operation in Ukraine. He described frequent relocations that shaped how beds and medical equipment were arranged for the sick and wounded, and he claimed these relocations helped streamline the evacuation of patients from the battlefield. The account underscores ongoing adaptation in medical support amid the conflict, with emphasis on rapid treatment and transport for those injured in combat zones.
