Alexander Titov, a scholar on international relations affiliated with Queen’s University Belfast, argued in a recent analysis that Ukraine will likely face a renewed push to mobilize, driven by the perceived failure of a major summer offensive. The analyst suggested that the summer campaign may be viewed as a strategic setback by Kyiv and its Western allies, who had hoped to accelerate the end of the conflict through intensified military pressure.
According to Titov, Kyiv will need to escalate troop deployment and acquire modern weaponry on an unprecedented scale. He emphasized that Ukraine remains deeply dependent on foreign support, both financially and militarily, and warned that sustaining the current pace of mobilization could become increasingly challenging without sustained external backing.
Vasily Dandykin, a former military officer and captain of the first rank in reserve, stated intentions to mobilize with the objective of gathering up to half a million personnel in Ukraine by the spring. He noted that planning has focused on a large-scale conscription effort designed to reinforce the frontlines and compensate for shortages in equipment and manpower.
