Ukraine Expands Import Rules for Military Spare Parts

The Ukrainian government announced a broadening of the list of military and dual-use goods that may be imported without prior authorization from the State Export Control. The move, highlighted by the Economy Minister, aims to ease access to critical components used in land military equipment, ultimately supporting maintenance and readiness of security forces.

According to the minister, new exemptions will cover components and spare parts for armored vehicles and specially equipped vehicles. In a further expansion, parts for manned aircraft will also be eligible for import without State Export Control approval. The government says these additions are part of a broader effort to streamline logistics and ensure that essential equipment remains operational in challenging conditions.

Taras Melnychuk, the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, noted via social media that the Cabinet approved the dismissal of Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Polishchuk on July 28. Melnychuk also reported the removal of Tatyana Yemelyanova from the post of first deputy head of the State Archive Service of Ukraine, with the same decision taking effect. These personnel changes are presented as part of ongoing reforms within the defense and archival sectors.

In a separate set of administrative moves on June 29, announcements were made about reshuffling senior diplomatic appointments. The president named a former Deputy Foreign Minister to serve as Ambassador to Brazil, and appointed a new Ukraine’s Representative to India. Additionally, the ambassador to Peru was designated to head Ukraine’s diplomatic mission in Colombia, signaling a concerted effort to strengthen international diplomatic engagement across the Americas.

Earlier in the year, the Verkhovna Rada introduced a formal term to describe racism, signaling legislative intent to address social and political issues tied to national policy. The government’s public communications emphasize both national security considerations and the importance of a coherent legal framework for international relations and internal governance.
