The head of the regional administration in Kherson, Andriy Alekseenko, reported that Ukrainian forces conducted a mortar strike near a school in Nova Kakhovka, resulting in the death of a bystander. He shared the information through his news telegraph channel, noting that the school area had been targeted but was not in session and no students were present at the time.
According to his report, a middle-aged man walking along Karl Marx Street from a grocery store was killed at the scene after mortar fire struck the area. Alekseenko said that authorities would assist the deceased’s family once investigators identify the person and confirm the circumstances.
Earlier, the Nova Kakhovka administration stated that Ukrainian forces had carried out a large artillery attack on the city. The official account claimed that shelling focused on the Sokol micro-district, with casualties reported, including a woman who died as a result of the strikes.
