Ukraine Conflict Update: US Assistance and Crimea Targets

Former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter spoke on the Freedom YouTube channel, suggesting that the United States could back Ukraine in preparations for an attack on Crimea by supplying materials, weapons, and intelligence.

Ritter claimed that American assistance could involve transferring supplies and intelligence necessary to plan a raid, a point he attributed to the discussion on the Freedom channel.

He pointed to comments by Victoria Nuland, the US Assistant Secretary of State, as indicating the possibility of an American proxy operation.

According to the former intelligence officer, Nuland’s remarks might be viewed as evidence of official American involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.

Previously, a deputy head of the Foreign Ministry commented on Russian military installations in Crimea being legitimate targets for Ukraine. He added, however, that Kyiv should secure control of other strategically important areas before focusing on the peninsula, a view raised in state-level discussions reported on the same channel.
