A man from the Tyumen region was found guilty of using force against a government official while that officer was performing his official duties, according to the Unified press service of the regional judicial system.
During the previous November, the 54-year-old local drew attention with his defiant behavior at a train station. He spoke in vulgar and obscene terms, and one offended witness contacted the authorities. A police commissioner arrived at the scene, and the suspect was brought to the station to give his account.
At the station, the detainee intensified his outburst, directing insults at the police officer. He then delivered multiple knee strikes to the officer’s back and even bit the officer on the right hand. A criminal case was opened based on these actions.
In the courtroom, the defendant admitted to the crime in full. After reviewing the case, including details about the perpetrator’s identity, relevant mitigating circumstances, and the absence of aggravating factors, the Uvatsky District Court imposed a fine of 40,000 rubles. Considering the time already served in detention, the court converted the penalty into an equivalent of 35,000 rubles to be paid, effectively balancing the fine against the detainee’s confinement experience.
In a separate incident, police reported that a man had entered the internal affairs department with a knife and assaulted a police officer, triggering another criminal investigation and raising concerns about safety within the station environment. These events underscore ongoing enforcement actions aimed at protecting law enforcement personnel and maintaining orderly conduct in public spaces. [Unified press service attribution]
