Two Popular YouTubers Arrested for Sexual Assault and Recording Minors in Madrid
Two well-known YouTubers with a massive social media following were arrested by the National Police of Spain for sexually abusing and filming at least four underage girls, according to a statement from the Madrid Regional Police Headquarters.
One of the suspects is already in custody, and investigators say they exploited their fame to lure young women who were drawn to their online status. The victims were taken to the residence of one of the suspects, where they were subjected to drug-assisted activities that were designed to break their will.
The suspects allegedly used their mobile devices and security cameras at the home to record the sexual assaults. The inquiry began last December after a report raised concerns about potential abuse in a property located in the Villa de Vallecas district of Madrid.
The report pointed to two men with a large following on several digital platforms. Following the investigation, four potential victims, all underage, were identified.
The victims stated they were drawn to the residence of one of the suspects because of his social media fame. Once inside, he and his partner allegedly administered various drugs and offered them to the girls to consume as well.
When the minors were under the influence, the attackers allegedly assaulted them and recorded the sexual encounters, all while the victims were unaware of what was happening.
The operation concluded with the detention on January 24 of the two men. One is suspected of two counts of sexual assault, a rape, exhibitionism, child pornography, and five crimes related to drug trafficking. The second suspect faces a charge of sexual assault. During the house search, agents located another underage victim who had also suffered from the episodes.
During the proceedings, a large number of electronic storage devices, varying quantities of drugs, and two mobile phones were seized. After being brought before a judge, one of the suspects was remanded in custody.
Authorities emphasized that the case underscores the dangers that can accompany online fame and the vulnerability of minors who may be drawn into harmful situations by individuals trusted in the digital space. The investigation continues as prosecutors review the evidence and determine the appropriate legal steps to take against the accused.
