The Guardia Civil has detained two men suspected of committing a violent robbery in the town of Teulada Moraira in Alicante. The suspects allegedly posed as Interpol agents to carry out the crime, and both have already been remanded in prison.

Within the framework of operation Estacaholand, the investigation began on October 22 after a Dutch national reported being intercepted by three hooded individuals while riding a scooter near his home, according to the Guardia Civil.

The victim described the attackers as wearing disguises of fake Interpol officers who forcibly stopped him and assaulted him to a degree that left him with injuries of varying severity. They also took several belongings, including cash, before fleeing the scene.

After the assault, the assailants fled in a vehicle that a Guardia Civil patrol later located, marking the formal start of the inquiry.

Moraira investigators led the collection and analysis of evidence and, together with witness statements and cooperation from the Teulada Local Police, managed to identify the suspects. These two men were arrested on October 25.

The detained individuals, Estonian nationals aged 36 and 45, were presented to the Court of Instruction No. 2 in Denia, Alicante, which ordered their provisional imprisonment.
