Two suspects were taken into custody by national police after a violent incident in Madrid. A spokesperson for the Madrid Police Superior Headquarters told Europa Press that they arrested the individuals following the assault on a man and the use of a fire extinguisher to spray him in the face in a robbery attempt involving about 6,000 euros in cash.

The incident unfolded on July 30 in Madrid’s Puente de Vallecas district. The victim was approached by two hooded men who struck him to the ground. It appears the suspects lured him with the pretense of arranging a purchase through a popular secondhand car engine app, a con that led the victim to bring the money to the location.

When the man arrived with the funds and agreed to sell, the attackers incapacitated him with a blast from a fire extinguisher, then seized a backpack containing cash and a gold necklace before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Following the investigation, authorities identified and located the two perpetrators. The suspects, arrested the day before for violent theft, were subsequently brought to the courthouse for processing.

Among those taken into custody, police sources indicate one individual is Ramón Santiago J., aged 36. Records show a history that includes severe crimes in his youth. Reports mention a case involving a young woman with mental disabilities and another individual with the same age, connected through a well-known nickname, with a background of violence that allegedly persisted from adolescence. These cases were addressed in the justice system, with a sentence of several years and subsequent release in 2012.

The other two detainees include Francisco Javier AL, known by the nickname El Malaguita, who was 18 years and three months old at the time of the alleged offenses and was tried as a minor, receiving a lengthy prison term that remains in effect. The final detainee, Rafale GF, nicknamed Rafita, was 14 when the alleged offenses occurred and spent four years in a youth detention center. After release, this individual reportedly faced additional property-related crimes and multiple arrest records.

The person currently detained reportedly has a substantial prior record for crimes against property and public health after leaving the detention center. An associate of 19 years old is listed with similar offenses. Ramón Santiago is described as a rapper who writes and performs under the stage name Zuni, with public records noting his artistic activity in the music scene.
