Two individuals were detained in connection with a burglary at a residence located in a Campello urbanization, and jewels reportedly stolen from the home were recovered by authorities. The incident drew the attention of the local Civil Guard, who subsequently moved to arrest the two suspects, who had been employed as guards.
The sequence of events unfolded on June 17 when officers from the Civil Guard detachment in El Campello received a municipal notification about a reported theft on the upper floor of a dwelling. According to the alert, the culprits had fled the scene as soon as their presence was detected, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.
Following the initial report, investigators conducted a rapid and coordinated search operation to identify the perpetrators. A patrol unit located a vehicle matching the victim’s description and stopped it shortly after, uncovering two occupants who did not have legal documentation. The individuals were a 46-year-old Polish man and a 40-year-old Serbian man. Inside the vehicle, officers recovered tools, gloves, and a balaclava that had been used during the alleged robbery, leading to the immediate arrest of the two suspects.
As the suspects realized they might be apprehended, they attempted to discard some gloves and jewelry that were later recovered by the Civil Guard and restored to their rightful owners. The swift action by the officers underscored the commitment to addressing theft in the area and ensuring the safety of residents in the community.
