The incident involved two vehicles and occurred last night on the CV-81 highway segment connecting Villena and Yecla. Initial reports indicate two people sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
The stretch where the accident happened was at the 51 kilometer marker, near the hamlet of Las Virtudes in Villena. Local traffic safety officers are coordinating the on‑scene investigation with support from the authorities.
One car left the roadway and rolled down into a valley for approximately 100 meters, while the other vehicle sustained heavy damage in the center of the road, necessitating a temporary rerouting of traffic.

The woman was evacuated from the scene as medical teams stabilized the two injured individuals through a series of medical maneuvers. One patient was transported to the Yecla Hospital in an Advanced Life Support unit, while the other was taken to the Elda General University Hospital in an additional ambulance unit.
