In the Amur region, two men from the village of Ilerleme, aged 27 and 30, were detained on suspicion of murdering a 31-year-old friend. The detention was announced by the regional Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee (SU SK) for the area.
According to investigators, in early May the suspects recalled money owed to the victim while they were drinking. They went to one of the victim’s friends and assaulted him, then took the victim to the home of one of the men. There, the investigators say, the two beat the victim with multiple objects, causing fatal injuries. The body was left at the scene and later buried nearby. Reportedly, concrete slabs were laid over the burial site after the burial was completed.
The suspects have confessed to their guilt.
A criminal case was opened under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers murder.
Previously, a resident of the Amur village was accused of beating a fellow villager to death with a stick in a separate fatal incident, according to authorities.
