Two people lost their lives in a residential fire on a street named after Casta Álvarez de Cabañas de Ebro in Zaragoza. The alarm arrived at about 7:00 am, and by the time the first fire units reached the scene, the blaze had already intensified to a full development state. Firefighters faced a two story home where access to every area required careful progression as they worked to control the flames for roughly two hours.

Officials reported that the deceased were a couple aged 60 and 62, residents of the town, according to initial assessments by the Civil Guard. Their bodies were located around 9:00 am as investigators began the on site analysis and procedures to identify the victims and secure the area.

The dwelling suffered total destruction due to the fire. The collapse of the roof and the upper floor added to the challenges faced by the fire crews who remained on site to extinguish embers and search for any remaining hotspots. The origin of the fire is not yet determined, and investigators will examine potential scenarios including electrical faults or accidental causes as part of the inquiry.

This incident prompted the Civil Guard to initiate the judicial protocol for fatalities and to refer the case to the Zaragoza prosecutor and court authorities to conduct a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event.
