On the road toward Carrasqueta in Xixona, a life was lost this Sunday when a motorcyclist, a 62-year-old man, exited the roadway. Information from Civil Traffic Guards confirms the incident occurred as he rode off the road, resulting in a fatal collision.
The accident happened shortly before one o’clock in the afternoon at kilometer 27 on the CV-800 highway, within the municipality of Xixona. Traffic authorities describe that the 62-year-old motorcyclist, riding a two-wheeled vehicle, was leaving via the right side of La Carrasqueta road when he first struck a guard rail and then impacted the barrier on the opposite side of the roadway.
Civilian Traffic Security officers arrived at the scene along with an ambulance. Despite the swift response, the medical team could not resuscitate the rider, and his death was confirmed at the scene.
Another motorcyclist injured in Xàbia
Yesterday at 20:15, CICU was alerted to a motorcycle accident on Barraca de Xàbia street. CICU deployed a SAMU unit and a SVB unit to assist.
The SAMU medical team treated the rider, who was reported to have sustained multiple trauma injuries from the crash. After receiving aid, the 40-year-old man was transported to Marina Alta Hospital in Denia for further care.
