Two young individuals, aged 15 and 16, were detained by the Civil Guard after a confrontation in Alfafar, Valencia, during the early hours of the weekend festivities. The incident involved an assault in which a 16-year-old boy sustained ten stab wounds while an attempt was made to steal a fanny pack that contained his wallet and mobile phone. He was rushed to hospital for treatment after the attack at dawn last Sunday, and his condition was reported as stable following initial care.
The events unfolded around 3:30 in the morning when Civil Guard officers encountered a wounded young man lying on a public street in Alfafar. Responding quickly, the guards assisted him and coordinated with medical services. The injured teen told officers that he and a 16-year-old friend had been attacked by two teenagers; his friend managed to escape unharmed. While awaiting emergency help, the victim provided a description of his attackers to the officers on the scene.
Within ten minutes, another patrol located and detained the alleged perpetrators. The stolen items, including the fanny pack, were recovered at the time of arrest. Local residents reported that the attackers were two minors, ages 15 and 16, and authorities confirmed the youths as those in custody.
The victim received initial treatment at a nearby health center and was subsequently transported by SAMU ambulance to Doctor Peset Hospital in Valencia for further care. Medical teams noted ten knife wounds on the body, with injuries to the back, left leg, and both shoulders requiring stitching. The injured minor, a Benetússer resident, was discharged but continues to recover at home under supervision.
The incident prompted the victim’s father to file a formal complaint at the Alfafar Civil Guard post on his child’s behalf, and a second witness, a friend of the Benetússer resident, testified to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The case has been brought under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, which is overseeing the proceedings and has confirmed the involvement of two young offenders.
