Two youths, a boy and a girl, were taken into custody in Palma for alleged crimes related to discovering and disclosing secrets. The boy is also accused of a separate crime involving sexual assault against a minor. According to the allegations, during a party with several underage attendees and under the influence of alcohol, the boy is said to have assaulted a minor and planned to record the incident on a mobile device and share it publicly.
The investigation began after a complaint from the mother of a minor who was targeted. The mother reported that the assault had been captured on a cellphone by another underage girl and was broadcast live through a social media platform from the victim’s account, prompting authorities to intervene and gather evidence from digital records and witnesses.
The events took place in the early hours of October 16 at a private residence in Palma where a gathering of minors occurred, with several of them reportedly consuming alcoholic beverages. The alleged misconduct occurred in a setting where the minor appeared compromised and unable to give consent securely.
According to the accusations, the boy used a flashlight on a mobile phone to assist in recording the minor during the sexual encounter, while simultaneously enabling a live stream through the minor’s social network account. It is further alleged that the footage was later shared with third parties.
Authorities from the Family and Women’s Unit (UFAM) conducted the inquiry, interviewing witnesses and collecting clues and evidence that linked the two youths to the alleged crimes, including live-streamed content that implicated both the recording of sexual activity and the dissemination of that material on social networks.
Continuing inquiries led to the arrest of both individuals, with the boy facing charges related to the discovery and disclosure of secrets as well as the alleged sexual assault of a minor. The investigation remains active as detectives pursue additional details and potential additional victims or witnesses.
