Two fatal stabbings rattled the Barcelona province on what the authorities described as the Twelfth Night. The first occurred around 20:30 on Thursday in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, where a man died in the violence. Hours later, another fatal incident took place in the Catalan capital during a separate confrontation.
Catalan police sources relayed to EFE on Friday that the first death happened in L’Hospitalet, and a second fatality was recorded in Catalonia within less than 24 hours. At the time of reporting, authorities had not arrested the suspect or suspects involved in either incident.
Early Friday morning, at approximately four o’clock, another person died after being stabbed in Barcelona’s Nou Barris district.
After the stabbing was reported, a large response from police units arrived at the scene. The injured individual succumbed to the severity of the wounds, and the investigation continued with the aim of clarifying the circumstances and identifying the responsible party or parties.
The Criminal Investigation Unit launched a formal inquiry to determine exactly what happened and to locate those responsible.
