Two young men, both 18 years old, were taken into custody after a late Saturday night stabbing and an assault that left a man with serious head injuries following an argument with a couple on Llano de Zaidía street in Valencia. The 42-year-old victim was rushed to La Fe Hospital by a SAMU ambulance, suffering multiple stab wounds and head trauma, and received immediate medical care.
The incident unfolded just after midnight, with the two teenagers reportedly taunting a man and a woman near the upper section of the Turia riverbed. A confrontation escalated quickly as the man confronted them, and the youths dragged him away, delivering blows that knocked him to the ground. Local witnesses described a chaotic scene as the assault intensified and bystanders began to react.
Witness footage captured on the night shows the attack continuing as the assailants were seen kicking the victim while he lay on the ground. Investigators later confirmed that a knife was used by at least one of the teenagers, resulting in the various injuries sustained by the victim. Authorities say bystanders alerted the authorities, prompting a rapid response.
The attackers fled the area along bike paths but were identified soon after by officers from Valencia Local Police. They were found hours later on Avenida del Cid, still covered in blood, which aligned with the statements provided to the station by witnesses and officers at the scene.
