TV Scheduling Update on RTVE La 1 and Afternoon Programming Changes
The program titled You Touched You recently concluded its run after a series of broadcasts that ran through the afternoon on La 1. The show, hosted by a familiar server, wrapped up its latest season this week as viewers saw the last episodes air in the afternoon slot. The network has not announced a new season or format to replace it in the afternoon, and as a result the program will not continue beyond its current run. Viewers can expect the channel to adjust its lineup to reflect this shift in programming as used during afternoon hours.
Starting Monday, October 3, RTVE’s main channel is reshaping its weekday schedule to address the termination of the competition that had previously occupied a late-afternoon audience block. The 19:50 to 20:30 window, which had been devoted to the competition, will be adjusted and redistributed, with a new airing time set to begin at 13:30 in the afternoon. The change aims to optimize the use of daytime hours and accommodate broader audience interests, ensuring a smooth transition for viewers who followed the mid to late afternoon programming.
On La 1, TVE has confirmed there will be no new format intended to bridge the gap left by the competition. Instead, the network will spotlight Aquí la Tierra, a long-running afternoon program hosted by Jacob Pretus. This show has historically performed well in the afternoon lineup and is scheduled to begin its new airing window next Monday, starting at 7:50 p.m. and extending into later hours as needed. As a result, the program duration will extend from thirty minutes to a full hour and ten minutes, aligning with audience demand and the channel’s goal of sustaining strong engagement during the later part of the day.
Separate from scheduling decisions, the cancellation of You Touched took place in early September following ratings that fluctuated around the five to six percent mark. At the time, the presenter shared a candid reflection on the experience, indicating that the overall impression left a positive taste in their mouth. The presenter described the experience as enjoyable and educational, noting that they danced, laughed, and formed connections with contestants who, according to the host, were good people and contributed to a memorable run of the program. The sentiment underscored a sense of gratitude for the journey, even as the format was concluded.
