Turkish, TRNC Citizens Evacuated from Gaza to Istanbul via Cairo

About 100 Turkish citizens and residents of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus who had been evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt are expected to fly to Istanbul in the next hours. The information was provided by Onca Keceli, the press secretary for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Keceli stated that a group of 100 people, comprising Turkish nationals, TRNC citizens, and their accompanying family members, had traveled from Gaza to Egypt. The plan is to transport them from Cairo to Istanbul later in the day, using Turkish Airlines.

Earlier reports noted that 28 additional Russian citizens, evacuated from the Gaza Strip the day before, had arrived in Moscow. In total, 553 Russian citizens have been relocated to the Russian Federation from the conflict zone since November 12.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry had previously denied claims that some Russians were escorted past the Rafah border crossing into Egypt outside official lists.

Those who previously fled the Gaza Strip described conditions and life in a war zone, offering a firsthand account of the challenges faced during the evacuation and in the immediate aftermath.
