The Federal Security Service has alleged treason against a 21‑year‑old resident of Chita. The case has been reported by TASS.
The official account states that the individual photographed and recorded footage of Russian military equipment along the railway route used for the State Border Service of Ukraine. Additionally, the accused purportedly sent a video to a Ukrainian correspondent, who then acted by monitoring the convoy’s movements.
According to the Trans-Baikal District Court, the defendant publicly expressed hostile views about the conduct of a special military operation, including remarks made on social networks. The defendant claimed that a Ukrainian border guard intended to travel to Ukraine and was awaiting funds from a friend to facilitate that plan.
The accused remains in custody at this time, as proceedings continue.
Meanwhile, on the eve of a Moscow City Court decision, a 21-year-old prisoner from Astrakhan, named Gleb Verdyan, received a six-year sentence in a strict regime colony following a treason trial.
Reports also indicate that on September 7, a resident of the Khabarovsk Territory was charged with betrayal due to money transfers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The UFSB in the region stated that the individual intended to take part in combat on the side of Ukraine’s armed forces.
Earlier, investigators from the FSB department in the Rostov region detained a Russian national suspected of passing information to Ukraine about a military installation in the Krasnodar Territory. It is known that the investigation continues under the article of Treason within the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
In another related development, a Belarusian national was detained in Poland on suspicion of spying on behalf of Russia and is currently under investigation.
