The Transparency Act compelled TVE to disclose a detail many taxpayers were unaware of. Public broadcasting revealed, in response to a request lodged with the Transparency and Good Governance Council, the salaries paid to fifteen external contributors involved in various programs, as reported by the public media office after the information request.

At the top of the disclosed salary table are the judges from MasterChef: Eva Soriano and Pepe Rodríguez, along with Samantha Vallejo-Nágera and Jordi Cruz. They reportedly earned amounts around EUR 11,000 for Soriano and EUR 10,000 for each of the other judges for their appearances on each episode of La Noche D, including culinary segments and related content. This level of compensation generated discussion about how public broadcasters reward high-profile talent in key cooking programs.

Beyond the weekly shows, the disclosure shows Alaska and Javier Ruiz receiving EUR 4,000 and EUR 5,000 respectively for each installment of Cinema de Barrio and Las Claves del Siglo XXI. Santiago Segura was noted to have requested EUR 2,200 for the narration of each episode of Journey to the Center of Television, illustrating differences in per-episode compensation among hosts, narrators, and guest talents across the network.

The data packet also highlights Anne Igartiburu earning EUR 1,550 for every appearance on Corazón, a figure that aligns with the compensation described for the Torres brothers, who receive EUR 1,500 per segment for Menudos Torres. These numbers reflect the public chain’s practice of publicly sharing external presenters’ pay while distinguishing them from internal, permanent staff.

Silvia Itxaurrondo is listed as receiving EUR 700 for each morning segment of La Hora de La 1. That amount is about EUR 100 less than Nieves Álvarez earns for her work as the presenter on Flash Fashion, illustrating a tiered pay structure among on-air talent with similar tenure and visibility.

The report also identifies the lower end of compensation for the most frequently featured presenters. Maria Gómez, Sara Escudero, and Cristina Fernández appear among the least rewarded for their respective programs. The hosts of Enredadas received EUR 499.33 for each episode, while a journalist earned EUR 398.08 for each appearance on Corazón, underscoring a pay scale that varies by program format and role.

It is important to note that the public network’s disclosure covers only external presenters. Salaries for individuals who are full-time company employees, such as Carlos Franganillo, Ana Blanco, or Marc Sala, were not included. This distinction highlights how the Transparency Act focuses attention on external contributors while leaving staff compensation outside the published data set.
