A 47-year-old man from China died at La Fe hospital after a stabbing that occurred at the doorway of his business on Joaquín Ballester street in Valencia. The incident happened around 7:00 in the morning as the owner was preparing to open for the day.
Witnesses reported that the assailant approached from behind, striking the victim with a blade. The wounds included a deep stab to the heart and multiple abdominal and chest injuries, with the violence catching the man off guard as he stood at his storefront.
Emergency services were alerted by several calls to 112. The National Police, accompanied by a SAMU medical team, arrived promptly and initiated life-saving measures. After more than an hour of ongoing resuscitation, vital signs were stabilized briefly, but the injuries remained life-threatening.
The victim was subsequently transported to La Fe Valencia Hospital in a critical condition. Despite the medical team’s efforts, the severity of the injuries resulted in his death while under care at the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the case, and early information indicates the suspect may have known the victim. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses to determine the motive and sequence of events. Local residents describe a tense scene at dawn, with neighbors reporting unusual activity around the storefront prior to the attack. The investigation continues as officers gather evidence and seek to locate the person responsible for the stabbing. (Source: Levante-EMV)
