Tragic Incident in Gorgol Valley Highlights Weather-Linked Dangers in Huesca Pyrenees

Two people lost their lives around noon this Saturday in the Gorgol valley, near Sallent de Gallego in the Huesca Pyrenees. The authorities in the Civil Guard reported that suffocation appears to be the most likely cause of death. The emergency call came in around 2:00 p.m., and the Mount Boltaña Rescue and Response Group, known as Greim, responded swiftly to the scene. Forensic specialists from the Aragon Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences worked with judicial authorization to recover the bodies, which were subsequently taken to San Jorge Hospital in Huesca for autopsies. This sequence underscores the seriousness of the incident and the meticulous procedures that follow such events in the region.
