An adolescent, fourteen years old, died this morning after drowning in the pool of a Ibiza villa where the family was enjoying a holiday. The incident occurred around 10 o’clock, and it appears that the mother was the one who found him, already lifeless, floating in the water.

The residence, which is believed to operate as a holiday rental, is situated between Sant Jordi and sa Caleta. The family is not Spanish, although they live on the Iberian Peninsula.

According to information obtained by Diario de Ibiza, the boy had told his mother that he planned to go for a swim in the pool. Roughly ten minutes later, with no word from him, she went to check and discovered him floating in the water.

Paramedics from a mobile advanced life support unit (SVA) of 061, commonly referred to as an ambulance with expanded capabilities, along with a basic life support unit, were dispatched immediately to the villa. The medical teams spent more than an hour attempting to revive him, but the efforts were unsuccessful.

Also present at the scene were officers from the Sant Josep Local Police and members of the Guardia Civil. The arrival of the duty magistrate and the forensic team is anticipated to determine the precise causes of death, with the forensic report expected to assist in the investigation.
