preliminary information indicates that on Monday, December 26, a mother killed her three children in an apartment on Bazhov Street in Yekaterinburg. The press service of the investigative department of the Sverdlovsk region of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that a criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident. The victims were two boys aged 15 and 10, and a five-month-old girl.
“A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for the murder of two or more minors,” the ministry stated.
The identities of the deceased children and their mother, born in 1985, have been established. The mother, who was on maternity leave, becomes a central figure in the case. Igor Morokov, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the region, participated in clarifying circumstances of the tragedy. Telegram channel SHOT reported two notes believed to be found at the scene, attributed to Anastasia, the mother of the victims. One note mentions serious illness, the other references demons entering her children.
“When you prayed at night, the devil descended from the sky and settled in you. You are Satan incarnate. I had to kill the kids because I’m dying due to the Noonday Imp that entered me,” one note reportedly says.
The SHOT report adds that the mother later sent messages to relatives saying, “The Apocalypse is coming, there are many demons in the cities, and her children are already in heaven.” It is suggested that demons may have affected the husband as well, and that family tensions, including a stern husband, could have contributed to the situation.
Another note purportedly reads, “I loved my children and my wife very much. I had to do this to save them for eternity. Excuse me, I had to do this because there is no one to go to,” according to the discovered message.
What neighbors say
A source familiar with the case told KP-Yekaterinburg that the mother was found lying beside the bodies of the children. The source also noted that the mother had sent an SMS to relatives describing the events.
“The message said that the children were possessed by demons,” the anonymous source stated.
People who knew the family report that the father, previously employed in law enforcement, had retired three years earlier. Neighbors recalled loud music coming from the apartment on December 24, prompting some to ask the family to reduce noise. It was also reported that prayers and cries from a child could be heard from the residence, with the phrase, “I want to live! I don’t want to die!”
Ekaterina, another neighbor speaking to E1.Ru, described the prior day as marked by loud disturbances, including sounds resembling someone being forcefully removed from school. She recalled thinking it was blasphemy and that the family argued loudly.
A friend of the 15-year-old noted that the household appeared stable from the outside. He emphasized that the boy enjoyed a calm life, participating in a photography circle, and that the family looked well-off. The younger brother was described as good-natured, and the family often traveled together with the father.
