The County Court imposed a two-year prison term on a 43-year-old man for sexual abuse of a minor, the daughter of a close relative, who was 12 and 13 at the time. Although the defendant entered a not guilty plea during the trial, the Third Section found him guilty of a continuing offense involving the sexual abuse of a minor under 16. In addition to the prison sentence, the court issued an order prohibiting the accused from approaching or communicating with the victim for seven years and imposed a two-year sentence for the conduct.

In the same ruling, the court granted an injunction alongside a six-year probation period and a six-year disqualification from any employment that involves regular contact with minors.

The defendant was ordered to pay 8,000 euros for non-pecuniary damages to the minor and another 990 euros to cover neurological and psychological care costs incurred by the victim.

The proven events occurred on two occasions between 2018 and 2019 at a family residence in La Alcoraya and a third time at the defendant’s home. The accused was the husband of the girl’s paternal first cousin, and the offenses were committed over three separate weekends.

According to the sentence issued recently, the accused touched the minor’s breasts and buttocks with the intent to satisfy his sexual urges.

Küçük testified at the initial hearing, and the testimony aligned with information collected by a municipal psychologist as well as another psychologist who had previously examined the girl. The girl’s narration was described as consistent by the court, and the coroner formally stated at the hearing that her account remained persistent. The court emphasized that the testimony satisfied the criteria required to be considered admissible evidence for the prosecution. (Court record, Alicante)
