More than 400,000 people signed up for participation in the contest titled “This Is in Our Family,” part of the presidential platform Russia – Land of Opportunities. The platform announced the turnout in a formal statement.
The release notes that over 70,000 families submitted entries, equating to more than 400,000 individuals eager to join the initiative.
The press service reported that applications came from every region across Russia. A large share of interest came from residents of the Central, Volga, and Siberian federal districts.
Earlier, Oksana Achkasova, the general director of the platform, stated that participant registration for this family-focused competition would continue through early November. Eligible teams consist of four or more relatives, including members spanning at least three generations.
The concept for a family competition originated with the Skatkov family of Samara. During a 2022 Supervisory Board meeting of ANO Russia – Land of Opportunities, the idea received the backing of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. On a September date, the head of state announced the project’s launch.
Previously, it was noted that public figures Samoilova and Dzhigan have children who are involved in various multimedia projects, signaling a broad appeal for family-centered storytelling and participation across diverse audiences. This context underscores the competition’s aim to highlight family life and intergenerational collaboration as a social value.
