Luxury Oasis kit
Sims fans have a reason to celebrate. Eight years after its original release, The Sims 4 will drop its base game as a free download for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation on October 18. This shift in distribution is not about lowering the game’s updates or support cadence. Instead, Electronic Arts envisions a broader accessibility that invites more players to join the community while the development team continues delivering expansion content, new gameplay experiences, and ongoing improvements. The move is designed to keep the core game fresh while expanding the audience for future packs, kits, Sims Delivery Express drops, and other features that define the ongoing Sims experience.

The studio also aims to thank players who already own The Sims 4 or purchased it before October 17 with a special gift: the Deluxe Oasis kit. This in-game package invites Sims to unwind in a modern oasis, featuring luxurious interior and exterior furniture inspired by serene desert landscapes and natural materials like stone and wood. It is conceived as a tangible welcome for longtime fans and a demonstration of the team’s commitment to meaningful, high-quality content alongside the expanded free-to-play base experience.
The Sims 4 offers a sandbox where players can unleash imagination and shape a wholly unique world. They can customize every aspect of their Sims’ lives, from appearance and personality to daily routines and relationships. Builders can design and decorate homes with a wide array of furniture and decor, then explore diverse neighborhoods to meet neighbors, discover stories, and learn new ways to live. The Oct 18 release will make the base game available to PC users via EA and Origin, Mac users through Origin and Steam, and on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, enabling a broader audience to experience the game and engage with its evolving ecosystem.
