The Southern District Military Court convicted a Krasnodar resident, sentencing him to six years in prison for attempting to ignite the city’s military registration office. This result was reported by the court’s Telegram channel.

The court’s decision identified the defendant as Oleg Igorevich Vazhdaev, who faced charges under Part 3 of Article 30, Chapter 1, Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, describing the act as a terrorist offense as stated in the court report.

According to the court, in September 2022 the accused prepared incendiary devices, set them on fire, and hurled them through a window at the Krasnodar military commissariat. It was noted that the building did not sustain a blaze.

The sentence imposed was six years in a strict regime penal colony, with the initial two years to be served in prison.

A separate report from Telegram channels claimed that a man in an SUV, whose identity was not disclosed, arrived at the military registration and enlistment office in Transbaikalia and tossed a burning rag into the building, but the flame shortly went out.

On August 14, information emerged that a 45-year-old man in Polevskoy, Sverdlovsk Region attempted suicide after setting fire to a military post using a Molotov cocktail.
